This requires even less horizontal space. You can imagine all test course be a long vertical line of rooms connected with elevators. And we are talking depths - elevators only go down and up. when did this require a whole state to fit in. 20 rooms here, 20 rooms there, a storage of 50 rooms maybe + maitenance area BETWEEN them and some misc 500m locations like sleeping area. You can fit all of Portal 2 areas in a really small space and even stack on eachother (I didn't do the stacking in the picture to show it's small enough even without stacking) Ĭome on. It can't be that big can it? Downtown NYC? Rhode island? I'm sorry but that's just stupid. It's not that big in diameter and about 100-150 stories high if measure your fall in the beginning after GLaDOS wakeup and the final lift ride with my often experiences with real skyscrapers.

And notice how we are not far from the said Chamber at all times. You see tons of different places and all that blue fog just to realize they are all stacked near each other with the GLaDOS chamber in the middle. I can almost certainly bet the new aperture facilities are much smaller than all of you imagine them to be.
